The Van Bommel Foundation

Funding and fundraising

FundingEvery year, the Van Bommel shoe factory donates an amount to the Van Bommel Foundation. This donation covers the costs of all regular annual activities of the Beyond Barriers project.

FundraisingIn addition to the project's regular activities, numerous additional initiatives have been developed. The Van Bommel Foundation actively raises funds in various ways to make these initiatives possible. External donors and companies wishing to contribute are also more than welcome. For more information, please contact Secretariaat@vanbommel.nl.

With additional funding, we aim to expand the project over the coming years with activities that address essential needs within the community. These include improved housing, access to clean drinking water, support for starting small businesses, crop farming and livestock farming, elderly care, improved sanitation and better mobility. Plans and project proposals are already in place for several of these activities, allowing us to take concrete action quickly as soon as additional funding becomes available. The principle behind every initiative remains the same: to increase the community’s self-sufficiency and reduce its dependence on aid.

ANBI statusThe Van Bommel Foundation is currently in the final stages of applying for ANBI status (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling, or Public Benefit Organisation) in the Netherlands. With ANBI status, donations to the foundation may be tax deductible for Dutch taxpayers. Depending on the type and amount of the donation, this may allow donors to reclaim part of their contribution through their tax return.
