Floris van Bommel update on opening and delivery times

Last update: 16-12-2020

The corona virus is turning our world upside down in an unprecedented way. It goes without saying that we have taken strong measures to minimize the risks for our employees and customers alike. Below, you will find a number of frequently asked questions regarding the measures we’ve already taken with regard to the coronavirus. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our customer service via phone +31135136940 on working days between 9 am and 5.30 pm or send us an email to webshop@florisvanbommel.com.

Are the Floris van Bommel brand stores and outlet open?

In the Netherlands and Germany all our stores are closed until further notice. In Belgium, our stores in Antwerp and Brugge are still open.

Is it still safe to order online at Florisvanbommel.com?

Yes. In our distribution centre, we strictly follow the guidelines stipulated by the authorities and the RIVM. Our delivery agents are instructed to maintain the necessary distance and avoid physical contact when dropping off parcels.

What is the current delivery time?

The processing time of online shop orders remains unchanged. Orders placed before 5 pm will be shipped the same day. Our distribution partner DHL also still has the same processing times. In short: orders placed before 5 pm will be delivered the next day. (As with any shipment, we have no influence on the actual shipping time, once the package has left our distribution centre. It may happen that DHL takes longer to deliver a package.)

Does the coronavirus affect the delivery?

Neighbours may be less willing to accept packages from other people due to the coronavirus. We recommend to use a delivery address where the package can definitely be received. With the track and trace code that you receive from us via email, you can check where the package is and when the delivery can be expected.

Many people would prefer if they didn’t have to pick up a package at a DHL service point during this period. This is another reason why it would be beneficial to ensure that the package can definitely be received at the delivery address provided.

If you haven’t been able to receive the package at the specified delivery address after two delivery attempts, please check the address of the service point that is stated on the note that you received from the delivery agent in your letterbox. Due to the coronavirus, it is possible that your regular DHL service point has been closed and the package has gone to another service point near you.

What happens if I am not at home at the time of delivery?

If possible, the package will be delivered to your neighbours. In this case, the delivery agent will inform you with a note in your letterbox. If this is not possible, another delivery attempt will be made to the same delivery address. If it cannot be received again, it will go to a DHL service point in your area. At the service point, your package will be stored for 7 days. If the package is not collected after these 7 days, it will be returned to our warehouse.

Can I simply return my package to a DHL service point?

Yes you can, most service points and post offices are still open, but this may change. Current information about the opening hours of DHL service points can be found here: https://www.dhlparcel.nl/en/consumer/dhl-servicepoints.
