Floris about this item:

"We have put a sole with a washed look underneath these shoes. So they aren't actually washed. Washing them is possible. To do so the loose soles, and sometimes even the entire shoes, are thrown into large washing drums, often together with some steel balls or rocks, to make the soles look nice and used. However, our quality police won't let me use those soles. Washed soles like that don't fit underneath the shoes anymore. You can't guarantee the quality. With this washed look our shoes still look neat and first-class. Soles that have really been washed are a different matter. On the shelf in the shop it looks super weird and cool, because it's all warped and super used. But as soon as you step outside of the shop, it looks as if you're wearing the shoes you've been gardening in for the last ten years. Not really what you want from new shoes in my opinion."
