Floris about this shoe:“In order to make some pocket money, I worked as a dishwasher in a restaurant as a teenager. Whenever it wasn’t busy, we also took on other tasks in and around the restaurant. One time, we were supposed to wash our boss’s car. While I was cleaning the car from the inside, my dishwasher colleague (and best friend) took care of the outside. When I was done inside, I helped my friend to dry the car off with tea towels. The drier the car got, the more scratches appeared and the duller the car coating looked. Perhaps not the brightest of people, my friend had used the green scrub side of the sponge to clean the car. Once the car was completely dry, there wasn’t much left of the glossy shine. This shoe is made of nubuck leather. Nubuck is more or less produced in the same way my friend manufactured this matt lacquer on a summer’s day some time in the early 1990s. Nubuck is normal and shiny leather that is roughened to create a matt, velour-like look. Our boss was very, very, very angry…”
This boat shoe is made of cognac-coloured nubuck leather and is finished with a fine tone-in-tone print. The outsole is made of bright yellow, lightweight poro rubber.
Along the sides, the shoe has a white leather lace that runs all around the heel cap. The shoe has round, white laces made of waxed cotton. The toe cap has a moderately rounded shape and an overall slim look. The lining and footbed are made of white leather.
Cognac-coloured nubuck leather belt with a fine structural pattern and a width of 4cm (article number 75154/03).
